. . .  because "just listening" won't change your story.  It's my intention that you, the storyteller,  leave your birth story session with a different story and meaning than the one you brought to it.

Through our shared attention to the process, you may encounter a turning point when you  realize something  new--and that discovery has the potential to change a belief about yourself and what happened in your birth. 

A birth experience  is much more than just a happy event or a medical experience. Creating a new life and giving birth changes everything. Because childbirth is an initiatory experience, even a normal birth can  shake us up in unexpected ways and that is what leads us to personal growth .

Completing your story means searching for and finding self-knowledge and personal meaning. This discovery rarely comes to us in labor or easily; it more likely comes during the postpartum Return--when we search for it.

It is a worthy endeavor to take time to examine, untangle, and clarify your initiatory experience, and turn confusion, regret, or disappointment into  self-compassion.
